The ProcUV features a high resolution camera inside a darkroom with built-in UV, white light and optional blue light. The darkroom is designed to fit many plate types allowing you to count colonies on small or larger bioassay plates, while its auto-locking door protects you from accidental UV exposure. If you want to visualise different types of fluorescence, the system also has a filter drawer which means you can add new filters, as and when you need them.
The ProcUV can be used for dark, light or multi-colored colony counting, fluorescent colony counting, GFP colony counting and viral plaque counting. The most difficult to count colonies are fluorescent ones as they require specific UV lighting conditions and a system equipped with specialised filters to enable the camera to image the fluorescent light each colony emits. Using ProcUV you can count fluorescent colonies and instantly save accurate images in a BMP format. Additionally, you can automatically transfer your results to Excel (optional extra) or a LIMS. The data generated by the ProcUV software is GLP/GMP compliant and can be used to produce professional reports and publication quality images.
ProcUV is available with a combination of two sets of Epi lighting, either 254nm, 302nm, 365nm or blue light.
The ProcUV can either be connected to a ProtoCOL 3 or a stand alone computer running the ProtoCOL 3 software.
ProtoCOL 3 is the next generation instrument for colony counting, zone measurements, (inhibition and AST), membranes, Petri-film and a range of other applications.
