Is aCOLyte compatible with Windows 7?

Can aCOLyte count spirals on the new smaller 85mm diameter Oxoid plates?

Yes the plate size is user selectable in the software and the correct count tables are automatically selected

We originally bought a Click'n'Count version of the aCOLyte colony counter but we are now doing a lot more plates each day and would like to upgrade to the SuperCount version. Do we need to buy a completely new aCOLyte colony counter?

No, you do not need to buy a new aCOLyte colony counter . We can upgrade your system with our SuperCount upgrade kit. The kit comprises of new hardware key and a new version of software to load on your PC. Remove the existing hardware key and replace it with the SuperCount upgrade key. Then install the software from the upgrade CD.

Do you have an instrument that can cope with a higher plate volume than a SuperCount aCOLyte colony counter?

What is the minimum computer requirement for installing and running aCOLyte?

The minimum recommended system specification for installing and running aCOLyte is as follows:-

• Intel Processor (Pentium 4, Pentium D, Celeron D, Pentium M, Core, Core 2 or Xeon). (We recommend 2GHz or higher Core 2 processor);

• 256 MB RAM (512 MB or more is desirable);

• 1024 x 768, 24 bit true colour graphics display;

• Sound card and speakers;

• CD-Rom drive (required for software installation);

• Two free independent USB 2.0 ports, at least one of which supports Hi-Speed mode. Note that there are three possible port speeds with USB 2.0:
  Lo-Speed (1.5Mbps), Full-Speed (12Mbps) and Hi-Speed (up to 480Mbps). The aCOLyte camera requires a Hi-Speed port;

• Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 32 bit version (64 bit operating systems are not supported).
